Synopsis
After having delivered a riveting speech on April 3rd, 1968 in Memphis, Tennessee in support of sanitation workers rights, Civil Rights activist Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. returns to the now infamous room 306 in the Lorraine Motel. His final hours are spent in an unprecedented fashion when he engages in a prophetic conversation with one of the hotel’s room service employees.

Intent
In honor of American Black History month sponsored by the Fondation des Etats-Unis, director/producer, Fatima Cadet-Diaby directed the Olivier winning play by Katori Hall. While Black History Month is not nationally recognized in France, Fatima wanted to advocate for the promotion and celebration of Black-led and Black curated theater work. This production also bowed its wings at the Fondation Lucien Paye. The performance was complimented with subtitles created by the students of the MA in Audiovisual Translation at Paris Nanterre University, under the supervision of Suzanne Dignan, Associate Professor in English linguistics.
